Guias do Mocho were born from the desire of a group of young people who understood that art could change the way their neighborhood and its people were seen. At first they were just volunteers but one of its intentions was also to be able to demonstrate entrepreneurship in a practical way, showing that the impossible only exists until someone makes it possible.
With only guided tours of street art, where they contextually explain the artist’s vision and the relationship between the work and its neighborhood, they understood that another art was being forgotten, Gastronomy, and these two arts became allies at Quinta do Mocho.
With these two basic ingredients plus the desire to do something more for the place where we live, we managed to break the pre-conceived barriers of ghettoization and minorities, thus opening the way for the socialization of different peoples. “An essential visit for anyone who wants to understand the unknown”
