On behalf of the Organizing Committee at Institut Convergences Migrations, we are delighted to welcome colleagues to the 22nd IMISCOE Annual Conference in Paris-Aubervilliers from July 1–4.
This year’s conference invites a reevaluation of migration research, moving beyond Western-centric and immigration-focused narratives to foster a nuanced understanding of migration complexities. By encouraging epistemological dialogue and collective reflexivity, it aims to challenge existing methodologies and explore the social and political effects of shifting perspectives on migration. Particular attention will be given to the intersections of critical migration studies, diversity, and the public perceptions of these fields.
As a hub of eight French universities and research institutions specialized in humanities, social sciences and medical research, located in a culturally diverse urban area, Institut Convergences Migrations is honored to host this vital conversation with our international colleagues.
