The IMISCOE Standing Committee on Family, Welfare, Care and Life Course (FamWeLC) and the IMISCOE Standing Committee on Education and Social Inequality (EduSocial) cordially invite you to a webinar on Decolonization and Critical Intercultural Education: Bridging Practices from the Global South to the Global North.

Martha Montero-Sieburth, co-lead of the Informal Care and Social Support group in FamWeLC will offer an overview on “The Concepts of Decolonization and Critical Intercultural Education in Latin America,” (Mexico), and introduce Tatiana Edith Vergara, Universidad Nacional del Chaco Austral, UNCAUS (Argentina) who will present “Between Discomforts and Transformations: Inhabiting Interculturality in Research Practice;” Julio César Tovar Gálvez, Universidad a Distancia de Madrid, IDIMA, (Colombia, Germany and Spain) on “Creating Epistemological Bridges to Decolonize the Standard Curriculum” and Andrés Martín, Universidad Católica del Maule, UCM (Colombia and Chile) on “Cultural Transitions and Epistemologies of Urban Science Teachers in Rural Indigenous Territories”. 

The coordinators of SC EduSocial, Thais França, (Researcher at CIES-Iscte, University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal) and Jens Schneider, (Senior Researcher at the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS), Germany), will moderate and lead the Q&A and Discussion session.
