Join us in Room Arts C333 (School of Global Studies, University of Sussex) or online for the film screening of the documentary Solace and an accompanying panel discussion. This is an interdisciplinary event that critically examines gendered and racialized harm across various forms of displacement, with a spotlight on Australia’s extraterritorial asylum regime. 

MOIRA DUSTIN (CHAIR) - Dr Moira Dustin is Co-Convenor of Women in Refugee Law (WiRL) and Lecturer and Knowledge Exchange and Impact Coordinator at University of Sussex.

 SABA VASEFI (SPEAKER) - Dr Saba Vasefi is an award-winning scholar-journalist, poet, documentary filmmaker. University of Sydney and Honorary Postdoctoral Associate at Macquarie University.

 KATE OGG (SPEAKER) - Dr Kate Ogg is a Professor of Law at Australian National University.
