Visiting Assistant Professor position -The Program in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration (ER&M), Yale University

Are you a scholar passionate about Ethnicity, Race, and Migration? If so, Yale University’s Program in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration (ER&M) is offering an exciting opportunity as a Visiting Assistant Professor for a one-year appointment starting July 1, 2025.

About the position

The course expectation is normally four courses per year, plus two course equivalents of effort in service to the program. This service includes advising of ER&M majors, especially (but not exclusively) those writing senior theses. 

Who should apply?

Scholars working in all fields of the humanities, arts, and social sciences, in particular those working in the fields of education, environmental studies, Latinx studies, and/or comparative settler colonialisms. 

Eligibility requirements

  • Candidates must have a PhD (or equivalent) in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration or a related discipline by the time of hire.
  • To be appointed at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, applicants must already hold the rank of Assistant Professor at their home institution and maintain it throughout their visiting appointment at Yale.
