PhD researchers from the University of Amsterdam & University College London are organizing a panel discussion on "Colonised Flows: a Cross-Disciplinary Approach to Migration and Urban Infrastructure". The event is funded by the Ducth Association for Migration Research.
In this panel discussion, moderators Yacine Ait Larbi & Jonas Le Thierry delve into the lasting impacts of colonial extraction routes and how they influence contemporary migration patterns towards Europe. From the exploitation of green resources to the control of migrant mobility, the panel aims to examine the shifts driven by labor needs and changing demands, and their effects on migrant imaginaries and communities.
They are joined by Noura Alkhalili, Assistant Professor of Human Geography at Radboud University and Sabrina Axster, Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University, USA. The speakers will share their expertise to add depth and insight to our discussions.
