Conference invitation: Contesting Violent Border Regimes - asylum rights activism and solidarity in Europe.

Welcome to The Asylum Commission’s final conference!

Since 2015, the Asylum Commission in Sweden has brought together people with experiences of seeking asylum, researchers, civil society activists and professionals, to examine the migration regulations that have been implemented following the putative crisis in 2015 and trace their negative legal and social consequences.

In August 2022, we will bring the work of the Commission's inquires to an end. At the same time, we want to look ahead to new, border-crossing collaborations to promote a solidarity and migrant justice, and a world without borders. We gather in Malmö for an international conference. Here we will present the results of the Commission's inquires, and listen to testimonies from activists working in violence-ridden border regions of Denmark, Greece, Poland, Portugal and Turkey.

Date and time: 25 August, 9 am - 5 pm.

Place ABF Malmö, Spånehusvägen 47, Malmö, Sweden and online via Zoom. The Zoom-link will be sent out to registered participants prior to the conference.
