The Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies (SCEUS) is organising a summer school on European Union migration policies from 7-11 July 2025.
The summer school will offer an opportunity to discuss ongoing research in an interdisciplinary setting focusing on the following topics:
- The role of EU institutions in migration policy-making.
- The connection between the internal and external governance of EU migration.
- Formal and informal modes of governance in EU migration.
- New legal and political developments in regular, irregular, and asylum policies in the European Union.
The summer school will be organised around individual sessions to discuss the research projects or papers of the selected participants, general sessions on ongoing academic and policy-oriented debates, and discussions with practitioners. The event will be led by Prof. Dr. Ariadna Ripoll Servent and will also welcome the expertise of Prof. Lilian Tsourdi (Maastricht University).
The summer school is part of the Jean Monnet Center EUChallenges. SCEUS will offer accommodation and support up to 12 participants with up to €250 for travel cost. We invite early career researchers doing their doctoral studies or having just completed them to submit a 250-word abstract delineating a paper or research project as well as a short letter explaining your motivation for attending the summer school.
