The Department of Ethics, Law and Politics, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ayelet Shachar, is inviting outstanding applications to apply for residential doctoral and postdoctoral research fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity.
Applicants should have substantive legal, empirical, or normative expertise in one or more of the following fields: citizenship, migration, technology and the regulation of global mobility regimes, comparative constitutional law, or the study of cultural or religious diversity. The focus is on cutting-edge legal and theoretical puzzles. An excellent track record and promising research agenda are required. We welcome candidates with advanced degrees in political science, law, philosophy, geography, sociology, global affairs and international relations. The duration of the in-residence fellowship position will be up to 12 months. Awards are made on the basis of scholarly excellence, research promise, and fit with department’s overall research agenda. The program does not support, as a primary activity, off-site fieldwork or work in remote archives.
